The Orange Academy is a free eight-week filmmaking programme for young people aged 18-30 in Luton.
During the production workshops
You'll use your own smartphone
alongside microphones, tripods
and other filmmaking equipment
provided by The Orange Academy,
to record a short documentary!
About a local community organisation.
You'll then learn how to edit
your documentary directly on
your phone using CapCut and other apps.
By the end of the programme,
you'll have the confidence and
knowledge to continue
creating your own films
using equipment you already own!

Duration: 8 weeks
Workshop Length: 3 hours per session

Group Size: Maximum of 16 participants
Who is it for?
The programme is open to anyone aged 18–30
with priority given to young people who are not currently
in education, employment or training (NEET).
No previous experience is required -
Just an interest in films, movies and cinema!

The Orange Academy is a fully funded programme, meaning it is completely free for all participants to attend.
This programme is funded by London Luton Airport as part of its commitment to supporting local communities and creating opportunities for young people in Luton.
The programme is managed by the Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation (BLCF).
